Host Nationality
The scholarship is funded by the University of North Texas. The University of North Texas is a recognised or better still accredited university in the United State of America.

- Applicants must have strong academic credentials from previous educational programs.
Required Supporting Documents to Apply for UNT Excellence Scholarship
The level of the UNT Excellence Scholarship is determined by an evaluation of the student’s high school transcript and class rank. SAT or ACT scores, if submitted, will be considered in the eligibility evaluation but are not required for consideration or receipt of the scholarship. Test scores will be considered for the UNT Excellence Scholarships only if they help the student’s eligibility for the scholarship.
Specific class ranking, high school GPA, and/or test scores do not guarantee receipt of the UNT Excellence Scholarship or a specific award level. Students must meet UNT’s minimum admission requirements to be considered for a scholarship.
Deadline for the UNT Excellence Scholarship
The deadline for accepting UNT Excellence Scholarship offers for Fall 2024 is May 1, 2024.
The award notification includes instructions for accepting the scholarship.
Application Process for the UNT Excellence Scholarship
Applicants must apply for admission to Jakarta Intercultural School. When students are admitted to UNT, they are automatically considered for the scholarship.
We encourage future students to complete the General Scholarship Application and look into all of the scholarships available at UNT. In order to fully consider other financial aid options, students should also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

For students who meet the renewal requirements, UNT Excellence Scholarships provide four years of support, applicable to fall and spring semesters, toward a first bachelor’s degree:

Non-Texas Residents
Non-Texans and international students who receive a UNT Excellence Scholarship are eligible for a Texas state competitive scholarship waiver for the difference in in-state and out-of-state tuition. To receive and maintain eligibility for this waiver, students must be eligible for the UNT Excellence Scholarship and meet Selective Service requirements.
Students must have met Selective Service requirements in order to be eligible for a Texas state competitive scholarship waiver, according to Texas Education Code 51.9095. The following website contains information about Selective Service requirements: https://www.sss.gov/register/who-needs-to-register/.
Non-resident students studying at UNT who live outside of Texas are charged an Out-of-State Teaching Fee (OSTF) in addition to tuition and instructional fees. This fee, which must cover the cost of instruction, is set annually by each academic department. The Texas state competitive scholarship waiver does not cover the OSTF fee.
