Selection Process
Semi-finalists for the Stamps Scholarship are required to produce a brief answer to a pre-determined essay prompt.
Finalists will be chosen based on a review of their applications and accompanying documentation, including their responses to the pre-determined essay challenge, and will be notified of their status as finalists in late January.
Following that, the Stamps Family Charitable Foundation will interview finalists, and Stamps Scholarship announcements will be issued by early March.
Scholarship Reward
Stamps Scholars get a merit scholarship that covers the full cost of four years of undergraduate study. Tuition and fees, on-campus accommodation, a food plan, University health insurance, textbooks, a laptop allowance, and access to a $12,000 enrichment fund may be used for study abroad, undergraduate research, unpaid internships, and other educational pursuits are all included in the prize. (Enrichment fund spending is subject to prior approval by the Provost’s Office.)
The Stamps Scholarship also provides access to the Stamps Scholars on-campus and national communities, funding for academic and scientific research projects, cultural and leadership programmes, study abroad, conventions and other regional conferences, and invitations to online events and networking opportunities.
Terms for the Stamps Scholarship
A Stamps Scholar must finish a full-time undergraduate programme of study with at least 12 credit hours every semester during the autumn and spring semesters, for a total of 24 credit hours per academic year. A minimum 3.0 GPA must be maintained at the University of Miami for the academic year, with the first calculation at the end of the second semester of enrollment. The award is subject to adjustment upon receipt of any grant, scholarship, or prepaid tuition and/or housing help that was not expected at the time of the award.
