The University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL) Scholarship is available to both American residents and international students. Furthermore, if your previous degree was in English, you should be able to show them an English Proficiency Certificate. They may waive IELTS criteria for some students, however, keep in mind that a good IELTS score may boost your chances of selection.
You can pursue a variety of courses at the University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL). Admission to UHCL is not required in order to apply, however, you must be unconditionally admitted before the final deadline in order to be considered for an award. The Hawk Scholars Scholarship (HSS) is awarded on the basis of extraordinary merit.

Criteria for University of Houston Scholarships
- New students must have a GPA of at least 3.0. (as recalculated by UHCL)
- A UHCL Admissions Application must be on file.
- The admission Application Fee must have been paid
- A UHCL identification number is required.
