ROTC Scholarship Program: Everything You Need to Know

The Army ROTC scholarship is currently open for you. The Army ROTC scholarship covers all tuition, fees, accommodation, and food up to $10,000 annually. In exchange, recipients are commissioned as Army officers in the Active Duty Force, Army Reserves, or National Guard.

Students who have graduated from high school or have an equivalent credential are eligible for the four-year scholarship. Candidates are chosen based on their academic and extracurricular achievements rather than their financial needs in order to maintain high standards.

Scholarships range in value from $1,000 to $16,000 a year and cover the cost of college tuition and fees. Army scholarship awardees additionally receive a tax-free subsistence allowance of $150 per month for up to ten months during the scholarship year.

Winners are chosen based on their SAT scores and academic status in high school. The finalist must submit evaluations from three school officials. A personal interview and extracurricular activities are also important.

As the recipient of a four-year scholarship, you must take an ROTC class, which takes up only a few hours per week. You may participate in any activity that does not conflict with your ROTC obligations. After graduation, you must accept a commission and serve full-time in the Active Army or part-time in the Army National Guard or the US Army Reserve.
