To be considered for the University of Birmingham DeepMind Scholarship, you meet up with the following:

  • Be able to demonstrate that they would be unable to accept the admission offer without financial assistance.
  • Have already been offered a conditional/unconditional place in the MSc Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning course at the University of Birmingham.
  • Be ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom and be classified as such for fee-paying purposes.

How to Apply for the University of Birmingham DeepMind Scholarship

The online application form is now accepting applications via an online application form. Please only apply if you have a conditional/unconditional offer, as the school cannot consider you until you have one.

A selection panel at the School of Computer Science will review applications throughout August 2024 based on the following criteria:

  • Already holding a conditional or unconditional offer for the MSc in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
  • Meeting the eligibility category.
  • Providing additional supporting documentation and evidence (if required).

Successful recipients will be selected on the basis of:

  • Content of application.
  • Confirmation of eligibility (as specified in criteria and supported by any required evidence).

Scholarship Award

  • The international scholarship available is valued at £47,680. The value of this scholarship is applied against:
    • International tuition fees – £26,640
    • A maintenance grant of £15,840 (to use for living costs), paid in instalments over the duration of the course
    • Funding of up to £2,000 to attend an international conference in the field of AI and/or Machine Learning during the course as well as £1,500 towards the purchase of essential equipment (suitable laptop etc.).
    • £1700 to assist with relocation expenses
  • There are two Home scholarships available, valued at £29,860 each. The value of the scholarship is applied against:
    • UK tuition fees – £10,620
    • A maintenance grant of £15,840 (to use for living costs), paid in instalments over the duration of the course
    • Funding of up to £2,000 to attend an international conference in the field of AI and/or Machine Learning during the course as well as £1,500 towards the purchase of essential equipment (suitable laptop etc.).
